What is it about Easter that makes you homesick for family? It always does that for me. I haven't been home for Easter for 7 years!! There's something wrong about that.
We did happen to have a great day besides the homesick part. Clara started out the day right by waking up at 8:30!!! We were late for church and my hair didn't get done because I've been using her as a human alarm clock for 4 1/2 months.... but 11 hours? So worth it. She also didn't fit into her new Easter dress that I got her two weeks ago, SUCH a chunk. We went to church and had a beautiful time of it, reminiscing about holy week in Jerusalem and the sunrise service in the garden tomb. Clara flirted with everyone in Sunday school and made tons of new friends. We came home and had dinner with a cute couple from church. I roasted the chicken upside down because I'm a ding but randomly the breast meat was all the more tender for it? Also I can probably never bake a ham anymore because I did it last year when I was sick and pregnant with Clara...Oh the joys. Watson didn't get a hambone this year but he did get some substantial chicken scraps and I think everyone was pretty happy.
I love my Savior and am so grateful for this holiday to celebrate his life and resurrection.
Also, I can't wait for next year...I think Clara will be ready to hunt for some eggs by then. American commercialism at its finest!
