Hi Providence, we like you.

so- we made ourselves a long weekend and headed down for a much needed break in Rhode Island. As per usual- the only thing we planned was our residence and dinner restaurants and let the weekend take us where it would. I have to say- it was just what the doctor ordered. Providence practically oozed New England charm, read: pretty old homes, lots of brick, herringbone sidewalks, old bookstores. Bliss. We ate at Figidini the first night and Haruki East the second. Both places I'd highly recommend. Although, disclaimer: yelp says Figidini is kid friendly...and they have no high chairs so, yeah. but the pizza was divine so we made do.
we wandered the city and shopped and slept in, ordered movies and ate Talenti- what vacation doesn't include pints of ice cream in the hotel room? It was perfect. I love my family and I love new England.

  1. Yep, I love you and am jealous of your weekending adventures. Our typically include..... homework :)

  2. Oh! You must must go to "Waterfire" when it begins in October. It's a Providence weekend event you just can't miss! Family-friendly, bonfires light the entire river with music's a photographers dream!
